  A realization...
Can I just say that God works in mysterious ways? The past few days I have been in a funk about being down here away from my family and friends from college who are all I had ever known before moving.
However, today he sent two things my way that brightned my spirits and made me see the good about being down here. One was a compliment from a parent, and the other was a realization of sorts about my best friend. See, one thing bothering me down here was my friends that I see on a daily basis at work. I was in this whole despicable self-pity mode (i.e. I have no real friends down here, blah, blah, blah...). After getting off the phone with my best friend after an hour and a half it was like this fog was lifted. God let me see that even though I don't get to see her often or whatever, ours is a friendship built on meaningful things, no superficial ones. Now I knew this before, but I just had one of those moments of realization where it was like "Wham!" right in the face. You know what I mean? The fact that we really are each others best friend (well after her hubby of course :) hit me in the face. I knew that before, too, though. Weird how those momenets of realization hit ya, huh?
Friend, things WILL get better! Keep your head up and just do and handle what you can. Take care of you. In the meantime know that you have someone here always in your corner and with an ear to lend, or shoulder to cry on. I love you like my own two sisters back home, and hope that we continue to maintain our friendship the way we have over the last year (thats major-you survived living with me LOL) Other friends may be in my life, but never like you :)

  Say buh-bye to the crct!!!!
I am happy because as of about 11:15-ish today we finished with the state-mandated standardized testing for the year! WOO HOO!!!
My kids were glad to be done (you could see HUGE grins spread around the room as we turned to the last page)...they really did good and put forth some AWESOME effort. I had their egos boosted way up and them feeling less nervous....I told them this was "their time to shine....show how smart they were..." he he
Let's just hope it worked!!!

  Karma?
IS it Karma or just bad luck? I awoke this morning to NO VOICE. It's the big state testing week, I have to read it to my 2nd graders, and I lose my voice. NICE!!!!

  Suri????!!!!!!!!!
Huh? That's the name Tomkat chose?
Can you just imagine yelling "Suri, Oh Suri...where are you?" LOL
Yep, don't see it.
Not my first choices for a name. And it's a girl!!!

  clarification
She stated this usually went on for around a year (the rotatin system). And, THAT SHE HAD BEEN DOING IT SINCE THE AGE OF 14!!!!!!
WHAT?!
OHHHHH, ONE LAST THING....She is writing a book too about her expertise and the rotation system !!!!!!
Whaddya think blogger pals....should I invest in a copy when it comes out? LOL

  What the heck????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Okay, so I am listening to my fave radio station STAR 94 (http://www.star94.com) on my way from the doctor and enroute top the K-roger (kroger). Well the host, Ray, was curious about people who dated multiple people at the same time after a conversation he overheard at Piedmont park this weekend. They invited people who were currently dating 3 or more people to call in. WELL, a 20 yr.old called in and talked about how she was dating 15-20 MEN!!! WHAT THE HECK!!! She went on to explain that they were on a rotation system-and that her grandma and mom did this, too (they taught her!!!!) No intimacy involved before she has chosen them to have her next relationship with. They then asked her about the guy who had been on the rotation the longest...some guy has been for about 10 months. They also asked if it had worked for Mom and Grnadma (yep!) Okay, so here are my thoughts besides the ever poplular and redundant WHAT THE HECK!!!!!
1. What kind of guy would put up with this? She stated these men were all out of college and past the college age. She has dated a cop in most surrounding counties, too , she bragged (helped her out of 3 tickets thank you very much!!!! LOL) . WHAT THE HECK!!!!!!! Most guys this age wouldn't put up with this!!!
2. What kind of relationship is one where you go that long without intimacy? I mean, A YEAR???
3. How can you date someone that long and not commit? She and the other girls that called in (yes all that called in were of the female species) said that they waited to see the one that showed her could give her stuff, blah, blah, blah. It was all about what material things or favors they could get, not friendship or support, or anything substantial like that.
Okay, now I know I am not up to par on the whole dating things but PUHHLEASE! These women kinda sounded selfish and self-absorbed. I am all about having my guy have respect for me and a guy treating me well, etc. But this was at a different level that what is in my head and what I look for, demand from from a guy.
Is it me or am I right? Should I be looking things more like these women? I mean one talked about if a guy was late a few times she would stop seeing him, her time is valuable. THAT to me is stretching it and having thyself WAYYYYY to high up on a pedastal. If that were me, I'd expect a call and good explanation...but hey, stuff happens. Especially in the ATL and traffic.
Thoughts fellow bloggers?

  heaven....on earth

Miami from the boat...

sunset over the water....

The water in the caribbean...

  I'm baaack!

.
Now, don't go too crazy jumping up and down out of excitement that I am back to blogger land from vacation LOL Just kidding. It is kinda nice to be back....though my vacation was HEAVEN on earth!!! NO JOKE!!! The above pic is proof of such! he he So is this one...
The cruise couldn't have been better! The ship was great, the staff onboard were great....you get the picture! If you have never been on a cruise, I highly recommend it! Seriously.
Embarkation on Monday in Miami was kinda surreal...well taking off to Miami from Nshville that morning with the weather was first. Then embarkation. We got onboard and were given drinks, followed by being ushered into one of the restaurants for a buffett lunch. Then we got to get into our rooms finally. After that we hit the party by the pool and were off!!! Anywho, being onboard was not bad AT ALL. We were worried about being sick and stuff but nope not at all.
Tuesday morning was Key West and boy do I love the keys, Key West especially!!! There is so much history and cool stuff, along with that cool party atmosphere. We took a trolley tour of the island and then rented an electric car so we could drive around and see the sights some more. The elctric car was Hilarious...and no City and Pissy, Peach didn't drive it LOL ;)
The next day we spent at sea, by the pool and danced :)
Grand Cayman was AWESOME too. It's neat how they are ruled by Britain and do alot like the british (i.e. driving on the left side of the road, cars with the wheel on the right side...) They even have the queen on their money! We visited HELL, Grand Cayman. NOT KIDDING! LOL PICS LATER! We visited the turtle farm where there were some enormous turtles. We went to the rum cake factory...rum cake is yummy :) The last stop before shopping and walking around was seven mile beach...OH MY GOODNESS YA'LL!!! GORGEOUS!!! The pic from above was on seven mile beach...and I will post more later.
Needless to say I am wistful, wishing I was back in the caribbean.....
